DAY BY DAY PROGRAM

Day 1: CUSCO
Pick up upon arrival at "Velazco Astete" Cusco airport, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon between 13:15 and 13:45, we will pick you up from hotel for the city tour: visiting: the Main Square, the Cathedral, its extremely sober renaissance facade contrast with the baroque and plateresque style of its interior, and Koricancha, a famous temple dedicated to the Sun. Then, visit to the nearby ruins: Kenko, ancient ceremonial center dedicated to the earth; Puca Pucara, administrative and military center; Tambomachay, important place of worship dedicated to water and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, cyclopean fortress built for the defense of Cusco. Return to the hotel. Overnight (no meals).

Day 2: MACHU PICCHU
All day excursion by train to Machu Picchu. Between 05:45 and 06:00 am, you will leave the hotel to the station to take the train. Travel is in "Vistadome" Class (formerly "Autowagon"). Aprox. 9:40 a.m., you will arrive at the Aguas Calientes Station, from where you take a 20 minute bus ride to the ruins of Machu Picchu. Once there, you will have a guided tour, with an English speaking professional guide. The ruins are on the eastern slope of Machu Picchu in two separate arcas: the agricultural and the urban. Lunch at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge (Included). At 15:05 aprox train back to Cusco, arriving around 19:05,upon arrival transfer to Hotel. (B, L)

Day 3: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
You will be picked up between 8:15 and 8:40 am. Full day excursion to the Urubamba Valley visiting: the village of Pisac, a picturesque town of creole and colonial aspect and its lndian market and craftfair. Lunch provided. In the afternoon you'll visit to the fortress of Ollantaytambo, an architectural group that in the days of the Tahuantinsuyo empire was a gigantic agricultural, administrative, social, religious and military complex, then the Chincero market. At the end, return to Cusco and overnight at hotel. (B, L).


Day 4: CUSCO / LIMA

Transfer from your hotel to the airport for the return flight (airfare not included). (B)
